Two Year-Old Falls Into 25-Feet Deep Borewell, NDRF Joins Rescue Team

In a sad and shocking case, a 2-year-old boy fell into a 25-feet deep borewell in Tamil Nadu's Tiruchirappalli district on October 25. The child has been identified as Sujith Wilson, who fell into the borewell while he was playing near his house at 5:30 pm on Friday.

The rescue operation for Sujith Wilson is still on. The NDRF team from Chennai and Arakkonam have arrived on CM's instruction to assist in the rescue mission.
According to India Today reports, on an immediate call, the rescue teams came into action and rushed the spot. They first dug the land adjacent to the borewell, using an earthmover, to create a tunnel to reach Sujith.
During this rescue mission, Sujith who was at a 30 meter depth has fallen further down to a distance of 70 meters. The child has been stuck in the well which is only a 4 inch diameter, India Today further reported.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Vijayabaskar, tourism minister Vallamandi Natrajan and minority and welfare minister Valarmathi are keeping a keen eye on the situation and are also on the spot.
Going back to the incident, the child fell into the borewell while playing outside his residence. Best efforts are being made to bring the child out of the deep well.
Currently, a medical team is providing oxygen supply to the boy from outside the borewell.
